We’re incredibly excited to be cooking with Prince Durairaj of The Tamil Prince again, after a sellout success last year.
Prince grew up in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, with masala tea in his uncle’s coffee shop, idli and dosa at home, and the flavours of Tamil cooking all around him: curry leaves, coconut, tamarind, mustard seeds - the perfect balance of heat and sourness.
This menu is made up of comforting dishes that remind him of home. A little piece of Tamil Nadu, straight to your DabbaDrop table.
It works so well for summer: bright, coconutty, gently spiced and full of tangy, fresh flavours that are moreish and filling, without being heavy.
Lime & Coconut Chickpeas
Tender, melt-in-the-mouth chickpeas cooked with garlic, ginger, asafoetida, and mustard seeds, then finished with a sprinkling of creamy coconut and tangy lime zest.
Tamil Aubergine Masala
A fan favourite at The Tamil Prince! Chunks of aubergine, onion, and garlic are browned, then slowly simmered in a luxurious blend of sesame, tamarind, fenugreek, Garam Masala, curry leaves, and Kashmiri chilli until soft, then sprinkled with crisp, toasted coconut.
Dal Fry
Toor and Moong dal are cooked down in a base of creamy coconut milk, leeks, and green chilli until silky smooth, with crispy onions and Pul Biber to finish.

Fluffy and fresh, our coconut rice brings it all together.
