What is DabbaDrop?
DabbaDrop is a subscription service for Friday Night Curry – this means you choose the date you would like your dinner delivery and pay up-front before we do any cooking. We deliver your dinner in zero-plastic Dabba boxes by bicycle – Friday Night Freedom.
What is a Dabba?
Dabba is Hindi for box, a stainless steel, reusable tiffin-box used to ferry home-cooked meals across the city of Mumbai.
How it Works
From our website please select from one of our subscription plans - either one curry a month or two curries a month. We’ll ask if you would like any add-ons like samosas or pickles and chutneys. Once you’ve chosen your plan and any add-ons, we’ll add the dabba to your cart (for £12.50) and also the delivery charge of £3 per drop. When you’re all paid up, we’ll send you an email with our Monthly Menu so you can let us know which Friday you would like to start your subscription.
Don’t worry you can cancel or change your subscription any time.
You have until Wednesday 3pm on the week of your delivery to change your mind. We will send you an email each time to make sure you don’t forget.
What happens next?
Once you’ve chosen your start date you will get a curry either every 4 weeks or every two weeks. It is down to you to let us know if you are not going to be in or would like to change or pause your subscription. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know.
We’ll send you an email in the afternoon before your delivery on Friday to let you know a half-hour window.
We charge a one-off £12.50 for your reusable dabba - this is added to your order at checkout for ease. Should you decide to cancel your subscription, the dabba is yours to keep. Our prices depend on the subscription plan you choose - £20 per curry on the Two Dabbadrops Per Month plan OR £25 per curry on the One Dabbadrop Per Month plan.
Delivery is changed at £3 per drop.
When you choose your subscription plan, we’ll ask if you want any add-on items like samosas and chutneys. If you choose these, they will be added to your order every time you DabbaDrop. We will send you a ‘last-chance-to-change-your-order’ email to ask if you would like these items again.
The Dabbadrop mission is to give you a night off - not just from cooking but also from any decision making. So, we carefully curate our menus so you get just that - a nourishing and balanced meal to get you ready for the weekend. Our Dabbadrop meals always consist of a delicious dal, 2 veggie curries, seasoned rice and 4 rotis.
Our menus change weekly and run for 6 weeks before going back to the start. We use seasonal produce wherever possible and your dabba dishes reflect the best of the season produce available from our trusted suppliers.
Once you’ve subscribed we’ll send you our Monthly Menus so you can let us know which Friday you would like your delivery.
Our 6 week menu means that you will never have the same two menus in one 4 weekly period - we wanted you to strike the right balance between familiarity and adventure when you order from us.
At Dabbadrop we want to offer you complete Friday Night Freedom. Our affordable subscription plans only require you to enter your card details once and we take care of the rest - deciding your menu, cooking your dinner and delivering it just in time.
You will be charged at the start of every four week block.
You buy your dabba at checkout when you subscribe with us. We’ll bring it to you filled with our curries the first time we deliver. From then on we’ll swap it over every time you Dabbadrop. Our riders will remind you to return your Dabba when they drop off your curries.
Please do wash your Dabba before returning to us - simply pop it in your dishwasher or handwash with your regular washing-up liquid.
We’re afraid if your Dabba breaks while it’s in your possession you will have to buy a new one.
We’re committed to creating meaningful long-term relationships with trusted farmers, producers and suppliers who care about quality and sustainability as much as we do, and who share our values.
Before we start working with a new supplier, they must go through a tough process of vetting to make sure they meet our high standards for quality and sustainability. We use as much seasonal British produce as possible in our recipes. However, to make sure our menus are authentic, consistently varied and interesting throughout the year, we also source vegetables, spices and lentils from overseas when necessary.
In addition to the recipe specific allergen information provided for each DabbaDrop dish on our emails, we’d like to alert you to the fact that the kitchen we use for production and packing may also contain low levels of the following allergens: Fish; Eggs; Soya; Sesame; Sulphur dioxide and Sulphites; Mustard.
Your food is ready to eat but if you'd like to save it for another day it can be stored in the fridge up to 4 days.
To reheat, simply place the tins directly in the oven or decant to reheat in a microwave. Please don't reheat the metal tins in the microwave. Please ensure your food is piping hot before you consume it.

What if I'm not at home?
No problem! Lots of people aren’t home when we deliver. Life’s busy, so simply let us know a safe place we can leave your box if you’re not in (behind the gate, with a neighbour, etc.) and our delivery riders will leave it there for you to collect when you get home. Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible if your food is cold or goes missing if we have been told to leave it in your preferred spot.
Edit my delivery information
If you want to change your delivery information, such as your address or place to leave your box if you’re not in, log into your account on our website or app, select the ‘Details’ tab and then select ‘Edit’ next to the address you wish to change.

Pause my subscription
We know life’s busy, and everyone needs a break now and again. To pause your subscription, simply email us at email@example.com
At the bottom of every email from DabbaDrop there’s an ‘Unsubscribe’ button – selecting this will permanently remove you from our mailing list, so you won’t receive any more marketing emails from us.
Please note: These emails include reminders to order your add-on items and special offers such as money off your DabbaDrop.
Using discount codes
If you have a discount code (such as a ‘refer a friend’ code from someone who’s already using DabbaDrop), you can use this when you first sign up. To use your code, just enter your code in the box at checkout.
When will I be charged for my box?
You will be charged every 4 weeks from the date you first subscribe.
If you have been issued a refund, it should reach your bank within 3-5 working days.
Please note: You can edit or cancel an order until noon, 3 days before your chosen delivery date – this is when we start processing your order, so you won’t be able to edit or cancel after this point.
